KRAFT CHECK OUT HUNGER LAUNCHES ANNUAL PROGRAM
In its 16th year, the annual Check out Hunger Campaign started November 7th and will continue through January 2010. This year there's more of a need than ever for donations to the Foodbank. "We have on average 400 new families a week at the Foodbank right now," says Director of Development, Polly Kauahi, "and with layoffs showing no sign of stopping, and furlough days continuing, it's a very scary time right now for a lot of families." You can do your part easily this holiday season. Simply tear off one of the green vouchers at the check out stand every time you grocery shop. For under $3 you can feed breakfast to a child for a week. To hear Polly and Gerald Shintaku of Kraft Foods Hawaii talk about this year's program, listen hear.
