Dear Jo,
We were on the island of Oahu probably 25 years ago, and ate several times at a restaurant that was partly open to the beach. From what I can remember, there was a long grill in the center of the restaurant, and you ordered your meat uncooked and took it to the grill and cooked it yourself. Do you know what restaurant I am talking about or if it is even there any more? One of my coworkers is coming to Oahu in March, and I would love to recommend this restaurant to him -- or one like it -- if it is still there.

The Shorebird at Ocean House. It’s still there. If you go to Midweek.com online this week and hit the food section that I usually write (Food Finds) then you can read an up to date article about it.
